Susie Lu, MT, MHA

Susie Lu specializes in laboratory management, business development and re-engineering.

Susie has 25 years experience in clinical laboratory management in integrated healthcare systems in competitive, managed-care markets. Currently, Susie is Associate Director, Operations-Outpatient/Ancillary Services with UCLA. Prior to UCLA, she was vice president, clinical laboratory and pathology services at Stanford University Medical Center, which includes Stanford Hospital and Clinics and Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital. Previously, she was vice president, clinical laboratories at UCSF Stanford Healthcare. Susie has also been executive director for Columbia’s eight northern California hospital laboratories; director of laboratory services for the Good Samaritan Health System, director of the laboratory for San Jose Medical Center and director of the laboratory for El Camino Hospital. She has published articles and presented papers in quality improvement, information systems and laboratory business development including “Computerization: The Key to a Successful Laboratory Quality Assurance Program”, published in Medical Laboratory Observer, October 1990 and “Outreach, Consolidation and Networking: Columbia’s Approach to Successful Integration of Laboratory Services in California”, published in 1996 in the Clinical Laboratory Management Review.

Susie received a B.S. in Medical Technology from the University of Kansas and a Masters in Health Care Administration from the University of San Francisco. Susie is adjunct professor at San Jose State University in laboratory medicine.
